THE SALEM SCOUT STORE IS NOW CLOSE

The last day to purchase Scouting supplies at the Salem Scout store was August 13, 2019. All your Scouting supply needs can be purchased from Nor'West Scout Shop in Portland, either in-person, by mail or by phone. 

Cascade Pacific Council, BSA will cover the cost of shipping for all Scouting families within the Willamette and Calapooia districts through December 31, 2019. Contact the Nor'West Scout Shop to place your orders. All orders will be shipped within the 24 hours on business days.

Where can I purchase badges and other advancement items after the Salem Scout Store closes?
All your Scouting supply needs can be met through the Nor’west Scout Shop; simply call (503) 243-5022 or send an email to norwestscoutshop@scouting.org. Kim Graboyes and her team will assist you with phone orders as they have been doing for Scouters in the Columbia Gorge, Longview, Astoria, and other remote parts of the council.

What shipping costs will be incurred for items ordered from Portland? 
The Cascade Pacific Council, BSA is covering the cost of shipping for units in the Salem area within the Willamette and Calapooia districts through December 2019.

Where can I purchase Scout supplies if I don’t want to drive to Portland?
There’s no need to drive to Portland or anywhere else – the Nor’West Scout Shop makes it easy to order Scouting supplies over the phone or by mail. Plus, the council is paying for shipping through December 31 for Willamette and Calapooia districts, so try out our mail-order service and see how easy it can be! How do I place an order if I don't know the shirt size I need? 
Each of Cascade Pacific Council's Salem-area District Executives will be issued sample shirts in each size so you can find correct sizes at roundtable and other meetings. Please contact your District Executive for details.

My unit had money on account at the Salem Scout store, how do I access that?
Unit accounts will be refunded. 

Why is the Salem Scout store closing?
The retail store in Salem was closed due to the cost of ongoing maintenance and operations for the site as well as an anticipated reduction in sales as a result of the decision made by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to discontinue their formal charter of Scouting units at the end of 2019. Over 60% of the Cascade Pacific Council's membership within the Willamette and Calapooia districts are members of the church.
