NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course

This course, upon successful completion, will enable you to be a Certified Pistol Instructor. This course has three parts and all parts are required. Each part has a written test, each requiring a 90% or better passing score to continue to the next phase.
The first part is Basic Instructor Training (BIT), which will be held in the metro area at the Office of Kevin Mapes (Keller Williams) on Saturday, September 21, 2019 beginning at 8:30AM sharp.

The next two parts are at Camp Meriwether. On Friday, September 27, 2019 at 6:00pm at Camp Meriwether, we will begin with dinner and proceed directly after with the Basic Pistol course. The NRA has added the discipline basic course to all Instructor courses. Upon completion of the Basic Pistol course, to continue onto the Instructor course, the candidate is required to pass a written test and complete a qualification test which involves knowledge, handling, loading, corrective action, and marksmanship.
The final part of the training is the Certified Pistol Instructor course, which will begin upon passing the Basic Pistol course. The Instructor course testing should be complete mid to late afternoon on Sunday.

Neither firearms nor ammunition will be provided for the class. For both of the BASIC PISTOL course and PISTOL INSTRUCTOR course, you must bring your own pistol and ammunition to use in training and qualification. Pistols must be kept in a case when not used during course activities. All cases will be checked and verified by two different people when moving the case into the classroom. Ammunition must be kept in a separate locked container from any pistols. On site storage is not provided for either pistols or ammunition. You will need to bring approximately 200 rounds total for both courses. All ammunition must be Factory Ammunition in it's original packaging - NO RELOADS ARE PERMITTED. Reminder – there will be No Live Ammunition In The Classroom. You must verify your ammunition suitability for the range with the instructor.
For both of the BASIC PISTOL course and PISTOL INSTRUCTOR course, you must bring your own Eye and Hearing protection.
Cost: The Fee for the course is $110.00, which includes course training materials, food, and lodging for the weekend. The fees are non-refundable. You will receive an email with a link to pay your course fees once you register on this site.
After completion of this course and the instructor submits the course report to the NRA, you will have 30 days to pay Credentialing Fees to the NRA, in order for this course to become part of your ratings. These credentialing fees are not included in the course fee that you pay to CPC. If you are an NRA Member, first time Instructors and Range Safety Officers pay a flat credentialing fee of $30 for a 2 year term. Additional ratings are added at $10 per rating. If you are not an NRA member, first time Instructors and Range Safety Officers pay a flat credentialing fee of $50 for a 2 year term. Additional ratings are added at $20 per rating.
