Reservations for service days will open on June 1, 2017.
Each service day will be open to a limited number of participants. This year Units will be able to come and stay overnight! Units will be allowed to come up on Friday evening and will be provided a Friday night cracker barrel, and Breakfast and Lunch on Saturday. Units will also have the option of staying Saturday night (for some weekends) as well but they will be responsible for their own Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast.
Projects will start at 8am on Saturday and end at 4pm on Saturday, please plan to participate for the full day.
There are many projects that need skilled carpenters, electricians, HVAC and plumbers. Please contact the Winter lodge Chairman at firstname.lastname@example.org to coordinate you with a project that matches your skills.
Units that participate in the Lodge Service days are given the chance to sign up early for winter lodge snow dates and will receive a discount on their reservation.
- August 26 - Cut logs into rounds, exterior dry rot repair and painting, tubing slope brush removal. This date will have a maximum of 20 adults/older scouts.
- September 16 - Split and stack wood into buildings for furnaces and fireplaces, tubing slope brush removal, add light switch and other electrical repairs, install clothing pegs and racks. This date has a maximum of 60 helpers.
- October 14 (no Saturday overnight) - Clean and sanitize lodge inside and out, repair inner tubes, stock building supplies for winter, wrap up remaining construction projects. This date has a maximum of 30 helpers.
Cost: $5 per person, this includes Friday night crackle barrel, Saturday breakfast and Lunch.
