Update: 1,700 Girls are Now CPC Scouts

After less than a year after becoming one of the first Council's in the Boy Scouts of America to welcome girls into Scouts BSA, we are excited to announce that nearly 15% of our active Scout members are girls.

With dozens of Cub packs and Scout troops launching throughout our region, the Cascade Pacific Council is truly leading the charge in welcoming everyone into Scouting.

Girls in BSA is nothing new

Boy Scouts of America has had programs for girls since 1971 when Venturing and Sea Scouting were opened to girls. And today the entire program is open to anyone.

Summer Camp is open to all Scouts, all ages! Cub Scouts can attend day camp or overnight camp and older girls can attend any CPC Scouts BSA Camp. Our Council is #2 in the nation for the number of camp properties we manage, each with its own suite of fantastic programs and excursions. Read more about our Northwest Scout Camps here.

Cub Scouts do fun things with other kids in grades kindergarten through fifth! They get to wear a cool uniform, go places, and see things. They play all kinds of sports and build things, like race cars and bird houses. Want to learn a secret code? Want to learn about wild animals? Go Cub Scouting!

Scouts BSA is a year-round program for youth in fifth grade through high school that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves.

Exploring is a career exploration opportunity for girls and boys ages 14 to 20 in which young people with interest in specific careers are matched with local businesses and community organizations with expertise in those fields.

Sea Scouting has a particular emphasis on boating and water-based activities for girls and boys ages 14 to 20. Sea Scouts may sail or cruise on boats, learn navigation, learn how to work on engines and compete in regional events.

Venturing is an exciting adventure-based program for girls and boys age 14 to 20. The Venturing program aims to enable young adults to experience a program of fun, challenge, and adventure; to acquire skills; to become skilled trainers of others; and to prepare for life.

It's an exciting time to be a part of Scouting where youth get unparalleled opportunities to grow in their personal and leadership skills whill becoming even more prepared for career and life.
