Equipment / Supplies Needed

Camps are continually in need of equipment and supplies to keep the property operational. Often items are donated by families or companies that would otherwise discard them, giving extra life to used appliances, tools, equipment, and other supplies. Please see bottom of this page for contact information should you have something to donate.

Although we cannot always accept everything that is available, we do appreciate your kind consideration of Scouting for your excess equipment.

This list does not include all the things that might be useful to camps, but serves as a starting point for your consideration.

Vehicles:
Full-size pickup trucks, small trucks, dump trucks, tractors, delivery vans, golf carts, etc. These must be in running and servicable condition in order to be of use to camps*.

Boats:
Small sailboats (sunfish-type), some canoes, kayaks, and rowboats (commercially-built only). These must be in usable condition in order to be of use to camps*.

Plumbing:
Pipe, fixtures, toilets, faucets, joints, plumbing tools, etc.

Electrical:
Currently produced (and up to code) wire, outlet boxes, switches, light fixtures, dimmers, timers, diesel generators, small gasoline generators, etc.

Construction Supplies:
Lumber, nails, screws, etc.

Vehicle Maintenance:
Motor oil, antifreeze, tire chains, etc. that match vechicles currently in our camp fleet.

Tools:
Any sort of hand or power tools for vehicle maintenance, woodworking, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, etc. Power tools must have safety guards and switches, and be in servicable condition.

Shovels, rakes, axes, hoes, splitting mauls, hammers, pliers, socket sets, cutters, welders, power saws, table saws, hydraulic splitters, etc.

Cleaning Supplies:
Mops, mop buckets, brooms, cleaning chemicals, floor buffers, bleach, bulk cleaning products, etc.

Appliances:

Commercial: stoves, microwaves, refrigerators, freezers, walk-in units, dishwashers, warmers, floor buffers, etc.. If you are aware of a restaurant closing or remodeling that would like us to haul away commercial kitchen equipment in good condition, please call 503.225.5744.

Household: stoves, microwaves, washers & dryers, dishwashers.

Furniture:
Often furniture is beyond life expectancy*, but if you have good, clean, functioning furniture, we can consider a new home at a camp for: sofas, recliners, chairs, tables, etc.

Computer Equipment:
Computers (Pentium 4 or newer), laser printers, inkjet printers, copy machines, digital projectors, etc.

Office Equipment:
File cabinets, bookcases, office chairs, office desks, adding machines, safes, etc.

Retail Equipment:
Retail display shelving, displays, racks, wallboard and hardware, cash registers, bill counters, coin counters, credit card machines, etc.

Consumables:
Paper products (bulk toilet paper, paper towels, paper plates, etc), light bulbs, bleach, antifreeze, laundry soap, bulk cleaning products, etc.

Green Energy Equipment:
We'd be interested in installing solar and/or wind energy equipment at at least one property as a test project to the impact that alternative energy might have on utility costs.

DONATING EQUIPMENT OR SUPPLIES:
To make a donation, please send an email to info@cpcbsa.org. If at all possible, include photos of the items. Please provide a detailed description of the equipment so that we may determine if it can be utilized and if so, the best use for it. Either an office staff member or a camp ranger will contact you about your donation offer. Thank you for your thoughtful contribution!

* We must ask that items donated are in good, running, and servicable condition. It seems somewhat picky to put restrictions on the sort of equipment we can accept, but we hope donors understand that donations of broken or outdated equipment usually require investment of time and money to ressurect, and thus become more of a liability and less of a benefit; we appreciate your consideration.
