Why should you attend an in-person training when a course is offered online?

Sure online trainings are an easy and convenient way to get some basic knowledge and keep current on annual or bi-annual certification classes (Youth Protection Training, Hazardeous Weather, and others).

However - online training cannot provide the following benefits which can be realized by attending an in-person training:

  1. Connect you with Local Council Resources. www.cpcbsa.org/email.
  2. Introduce you to a Mentor who is willing to be a continued resource for you.
  3. Provide an opportunity to be truly inspired by what Scouting can do.
  4. Give you the ability to ask specific questions to address your unique situation.
  5. Introduce you to other leaders in your area who you can share ideas with.

Make it a priority to set aside a few hours of time to help your Unit (and other Units) by attending an in-person training event in your district in 2014.
