Hello Thunderbird Scouters and welcome to the Thunderbird Commissioner's page
Commissioners are district and council leaders who help Scout units succeed. They coach and consult with adult leaders of Cub Scout packs, Boy Scout troops, and Venturing crews. Commissioners help maintain the standards of the Boy Scouts of America. They also oversee the unit charter renewal plan so that each unit reregisters on time with an optimum number of youth and adult members.
Commisioner meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of each month at 6:30pm across from St. Henry's Catholic Church: 396 NW 1st St, Gresham, Oregon

Unit Commissioners Wanted!
Take the 1 hour per week challenge! As pack and troop leadership experience changes with the new school year, we also transition some positions for district service. Your Thunderbird District is offering the chance to serve in the best job in Scouting, as a commissioner. Your job is to be a friend and resource to a unit, and willingness and enthusiasm can be more important than any previous training. I can show you how to do the job, and do it very well, on an average of only one hour a week. You can even make it fit into your schedule. If you can't believe it then give me a call and find out how. Or send me the name of a good candidate and I won't tell them it was you who gave it to me. Good scouting starts with good people.
