Camp Set-up Days: *Sunday, July 22th, 2:00pm – till dusk. At the Happy Valley Tree Farm.
*Saturday, July 28th, 9:00 am – till done. At the Happy Valley Tree Farm.
*Dates subject to change due to scheduling.
These set-up days are very important to the safety and atmosphere of our camp. Please arrange for adults to help, from your unit. Families are welcome, if children can be of help or supervised. Yes, we always have easy tasks for children or those less physically able. These dates are a great way for parents to help, if they can not volunteer during the week of camp. We make these days as fun as possible for all participants. We would appreciate any time you can offer on these dates. You are not required to spend the whole day, but we won’t push you away, if you do. Ice water is available on site, but any snacks or meals are BYO.
2012 Calapooia Day Camp Unit Leader/Parent Information
Packs need to register & pay at online at www.cpcbsa.org/register . Registrations that are paid, in full, by May 15, and each Cub Scout will receive a free camp T-shirt. All t-shirt orders will also be ordered online. Please review the council website for full details.
You need to fill out a 2012 Cub Scout Summer Camp Reservation Form for each pack’s day camp reservation. This is available online at www.cpcbsa.org.
PAYMENTS TO EXISTING RESERVATIONS
Once your pack places a reservation for camp, they will receive a RESERVATION NUMBER. This number is required with all camp payments. Please write this camp reservation number on your check memo line. We will only accept payments online through the website www.cpcbsa.org. The camp director and other camp staff cannot accept payments for additional registration and Tiger Day Payments.
Please provide a 2012 CALAPOOIA DEN ROSTER (found at the end of this guide), to the Day Camp Director along with copies of any registration forms submitted to the Council. A Medical Form (parts A & B) is required for all participants (Adult or youth) attending camp. Submitting these forms before camp, to the Camp Director, will speed up the check-in process on Monday morning. Please use the most recent version of the BSA Medical form. A doctor’s visit is not required for this camp.
BSA Day Camp Policy requires a ratio of 1 Adult Den Leader for every 4 Scouts in camp, each day. Calapooia Day Camp requires at least one (1) Adult Den Leader, from each unit, be in camp all week (M – F). All Tiger Cubs must be accompanied by a Tiger Partner (parent or guardian), all week or on the special Tiger day on Friday.
All packs that register before May 15th, will receive camp T-shirts from FREE. Those that take advantage of the free t-shirt offer will receive an email or letter from the council with a coupon code. The coupon code will allow units to order t-shirts from FREE . Otherwise, leaders can order Camp T-shirts and Hats on the council website under camps, than under Camp Clothing Preorder. Remember, you must submit a 2012 DAY CAMP SHIRT ORDER FORM ONLINE, through the council website at www.cpcbsa.org. . Please remember to list youth shirt size. We would like the boys to wear their shirts every day. The shirt is the uniform for the week for both campers and staff. As the uniform of the camp, it is appropriate to render the Cub Scout Salute while wearing the camp T-shirt, during each flag ceremony
The pre-ordered shirts should be available to pick up before camp. We will let the packs know when and where. Also shirts will be made available, at camp, Monday, during noontime. Shirts will be available to purchase at the Trading Post all week. Shirt sizes are limited so preordering shirts and hats are the best method.
Please review the Camp Leaders Guide for daily schedule, rotations, drop off and pickup times, station times and activities, TOT Lot, and Tag Program. New for 2012! We will offer a special tiger day and BBQ on Friday. Check out the leaders guide.
