Where Grit Grows in the Wild

Go beyond merit badges and choose your own epic adventure at Camp Pioneer next summer! Yes, you get a week of creative summer camp programs to hone your Scout skills. But why not scale a mountain peak, crawl through frigid ice caves or explore the lush Mount Jefferson wilderness while you are at it! This is where GRIT grows in the wild! 

Established in 1936 on Pine Lake in the shadow of glorious Mt. Jefferson, the camp features rowing, canoeing, swimming, fishing, kayaking as well as Scoutcraft skills like cooking and pioneering.

Cascade Chronicles – Throne Quest Week

Scouts ages 13+ will spend a week immersed in all aspects of geek culture! Meet new friends who share your interest in TCGs(Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc), Board games, RPGs (Pathfinder, Dungeons & Dragons, and many more!), and miniatures (Warhammer 40K). Open for individual Scouts to attend on their own (Camp will provide Adult Leadership) or Units may attend with their own leadership.

Become a Cascade Ranger

Pioneer’s signature program designed to give older Scouts (14 – 17 years of age) a more challenging outdoor experience. You’ll have the opportunity to hike around Mt. Jefferson (10,495′ elevation) or Three-Fingered Jack (7,844′ elevation), hike to Eight Lakes Basin and spend at least two nights out in the wilderness.
