Each year, Wauna La-Mon'tay Lodge sponsors a leadership development conference for Boy Scout youth leaders. This one-day conference is designed for older Scouts (age 13 and older and at least First Class rank) and other youth leaders to develop and reinforce key leadership skills. The conference focuses on building the team, with course sessions covering leadership styles, communication skills, problem solving and team dynamics. The materials directly tie to unit train-the-trainer and NYLT concepts, providing a valuable opportunity to reinforce the training our youth leaders need to be successful. And the sessions are taught by top-notch youth Arrowmen with proven leadership skills.
The conference is open to any Scout (they do not need to be in the OA to participate). Venturers and Sea Scouts are also encouraged to attend this high-quality leadership training day. Registered adult Scouters are also welcomed to participate with their youth leaders.
Full uniform is a must for all participants. The conference is scheduled for Saturday November 2 at Southridge High School (9625 SW 125th Ave, Beaverton, OR). Registration opens at 7:45 AM, with the opening session starting at 9:00 AM. The conference includes lunch, and will conclude at 3:30 PM.
Cost for the conference is $10, which includes lunch.
