WHAT ARE CAMP CARDS?

“Camp Cards” are discount cards that offer buyers discounts at several local retailers. Cards include a few one-time-use coupons and about a dozen year-long discount offers. Cards offer around $50 in value to the card buyer.Units in Cascade Pacific Council are encouraged to participate in this fundraiser, which provides outstanding return to their Scouts, to help them attend summer camp.
WHO CAN SELL CARDS?
Cub Scout Packs / Boy Scout Troops / Jamboree Scouts / Varsity Teams / Venture Crews
ELEVEN ZONES TO INCREASE SALES!
Eleven different Camp Card Zones are planned - so that buyers receive a great value that they can use in their hometown!

WHY CAMP CARDS?
Cascade Pacific Council’s primary objective is to help more Scouts attend summer camp where they’ll have an outstanding outdoor experience, reinforcing their desire to stay in Scouting.
Camp Cards offer a significant increase in transaction value: for the same amount of effort as other sales, Camp Card transactions return up to 50% commission for the Scout, much higher than the typical 30-35% fundraiser commission.
Families are facing increasing costs on all fronts. The Camp Card sale will help more families send their Scouts to camp.
Camp Cards offer the buyer a flexible, high-value item that lasts longer than a few minutes – plus the buyer is reminded of Scouting when they use their card throughout the rest of the year.
Camp Cards are easy to transport, distribute, store, sell, and maintain in good condition. Units will find that Camp Cards are easier to manage than other fundraisers.
Camp Card fundraisers throughout the country have had incredible success - we'd like to bring that success to units in Cascade Pacific Council!
WHEN:
The Camp Card sale will occur March 9 through May 6.
A number of unit information/training opportunities will be held in February.
Cards will be distributed at district roundtable meetings on March 8; the sale close-out occurs before May 11 to maintain the highest possible commission.
COST:
Camp Cards are sold to buyers for just $5.00 each. Buyers get a value of around $50 for their purchase. Units keep up to $2.50/card (up to 50% commission), and return the balance to the council. Units are encouraged to use these funds to ensure that every Scout can attend summer camp. The council’s portion covers the costs of securing coupons, promotion, card and sales materials printing, and supports camping and other operations that support Scouting units year-round.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Is the candy sale happening also?
The Camp Card sale replaces the candy sale. One of our major goals is to share outdoor experiences with more Scouts - the Camp Card sale allows much larger commission, which will help more Scouts raise funds for summer camp.
What retailers are on the card / what discounts are offered?
Our vendor list is growing; we're working hard on many more discounts in every corner of the council. With eleven cards to fill, we're focusing on several areas at once. Several cards are filled, and more are coming. If your zone isn't filled at the moment, have faith, those vendors are coming along. If you personally know a key contact at a major retailer, or know of a key retailer in your hometown, please send a note to

.
Can I help in the sale?
Yes! Each distict will have at least one District Camp Card Chairperson ; please let your district executive know that you're interested in lending a hand to a fun project that will help more Scouts get to camp. Each pack, troop, and other unit that participates will also need an adult to coordinate their card sales efforts - ask your unit committee chairperson if you can help. |
