Learning For Life Names Chairpersons

for Annual Fundraising Campaign

([Portland], [Or], [01/20/04]) — The nonprofit Learning For Life group in Portland has appointed Tom Unger as chair and Lori Alfonso as vice chair of its annual fundraising campaign, which runs now through March. Unger is a vice president and regional corporate communications manager for Wells Fargo in Portland. Alfonso is an executive recruiter and accountant in Portland.

The campaign goal this year is $52,087. Organizers have already raised $9,600 towards the ambitious goal.

Learning For Life provides educational classes and career guidance services to more than 20,000 youth in the Portland metro area, many of whom are from low- and moderate-income families. It delivers its programs to students in 36 schools and 75 Explorer posts in the local community, as well as an annual youth leadership skills conference and a Portland After Dark job site tour.

Learning For Life supports its educational services through the annual fundraising campaign, its annual Technology Awards and Silicon Forest Ball in November, and other events.
