Gilbert Ranch is Cascade Pacific Council's newest Cub Scout Resident Camp. Opened in 1997, Gilbert Ranch is located at Butte Creek Scout Ranch near Scotts Mills, Oregon. The moment each Scout steps onto main street and lays eyes on the old western town of Butte Creek, he will find it easy to imagine himself as part of the old west.
Camp Sessions are 3 days / 2 nights and run from July through mid August. Scouts and leaders stay in large two man platform tents. Each pack stays in a campsite identified by different "brands." The Brands are Setting Sun, Lazy B, Yellow Rose, Happy River, Circle T, 2 of Hearts, Flying J and Rocking K. Meals are served in a large full service dining hall.
Program highlights include horseback riding, BB gun shooting, panning for gold, archery, and of course Cowboy Campfires!
For the most complete information regarding the Gilbert Ranch program, please see the leader guide, which can be found in the downloads area of this website.

Tips for preparing for your stay at Gilbert Ranch:
Pack lightly as you will be carrying it up the hill. The Trading Post offers snacks and beverages as well as great souvenirs. Plan for rain or shine. Coolers are not suggested. We recommend light packing because all campsites are uphill.
Driving time from downtown Portland is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour from Salem.
Arrival time is 12:30 pm. Please eat lunch before you arrive. A portable toilet is located in the parking lot.
In order to ride the horses, each Scout must have long pants and closed toed shoes or boots.
Guests are welcome at Gilbert Ranch. The Western Street Show, on the middle night of your stay, is a must see experience. The Bar-B-Cue and closing campfire on the final night is another opportunity for family and friends to visit. Guest meals at $5.00, breakfast; $6.00, lunch (dinner); and $7.00 dinner (supper).
