Property Details: Phlox Point Hut

Shown here in summertime, Phlox Hut has a distinctive tower, which comes in handy in heavy snow conditions...When snow comes, much of the hut is coveredWith much more snow, the tower is the only access to the lodge. The tower provides additonal emergency exit in case of heavy overnight snow.Wintertime entrance is on the upper floor.The hut is heated by woodstove.

Located one-half mile from Timberline on Mt. Hood. This unique cabin is ideal for Explorer Posts and older Scouts. Phlox Point Lodge sits between two ski runs at Timberline. Space is limited to eight people only. Users must ski or snowshoe in during winter months.

Timberline Lodge, Ski-Bowl, and Mt. Hood Meadows are only minutes away for those wishing to ski, and numerous other activities abound in and around the Government Camp area of Mount Hood.

Parking during the winter months require a Sno Park Permit.

Winter Unit Lodge Use:

Units are encouraged to take their Scouts up to the winter lodges for a day or overnight snow activity.  Phlox Point Hut is not available to Cub Scout packs due to its difficult hike-in.  Each weekend December through March is pre-scheduled for troops, teams, and crews to utilize the lodges.  Please visit the Winter Lodge page for details and schedule.
