Station One on the Trail To First Class features, among other activities, the 1/4 mile walk-run Tenderfoot requirement. This picture shows the starting point - a section of railroad tie embedded in the ground and marked with a yellow reflector. The scout runs/walks down the road to the first gate they come to. They turn around and run/walk back to the starting point.

Each station on the Trail to First Class has a sign with abbreviated instructions describing what should be done at that station.

This station includes a pull-up bar (red arrow) and a standing long jump area (blue arrow) with a railroad tie marked with feet and inches, to measure the jump, embedded in the ground.

Above - the Trail to First Class includes advancement activities at each shelter in the activity field, as well as other shelters throughout the camp. The Scouts use a map and compass to work their way along the trail. The trail can be an all-day activity, or use it for just an hour or two.
