The hope at the heart of Adopt-a-School is to build strong, sustaining relationships with local schools by creating thousands of lasting community partnerships right in your home town. Through committed volunteer efforts – from landscaping and clean-up outside the school building to Scouts' active participation in school events throughout the year – the BSA® will become a defined presence in improving our nation's schools.
Cub Scouts can volunteer to hold an opening ceremony at school assemblies by raising the flag and introducing the pledge of allegiance. Boy Scouts can mentor classmates in areas of expertise. Units can plant trees, clean up school grounds, or build new playground areas. Sign your unit up and take a look at what others across the globe have already been doing. Start gathering ideas on how your unit can be the difference today for your school.
After each completed project, Scouts will receive a rocker patch in recognition of their participation and accomplishments.
Here are a few more potential project ideas to get you started, but please remember your priority remains to let your school's specific needs determine how you will serve them.

- Building improvements
- Giving Tree coordinate
- Teacher appreciation
- Helpers during festivals
