Scouting for Food Drive

The annual Scouting for Food drive is held on the first Saturday in December. We hope every family will be participating in the Scouting for  Food Drive.  Last year Scouts in Oregon and southwestern Washington collected nearly 300,000 pounds of food to benefit local hunger relief agencies. Let's do it again! Scouting for food will kick off Saturday morning Scouts will begin going door-to-door asking residents to donate canned and packaged foods for hungry people in their community. Your unit's participation is critical to the support of hungry families in Linn County. The best lesson we can teach children is to provide for the less fortunate in our community.

Did you know?

24.7% of families in Linn County receive food stamp benefits. 42% of school are children are receiving reduced or free lunch in Linn County. Perhaps, there is someone in your pack or troop receiving food assistance. Your unit can help in this effort by participating in the Scouting for Food Drive. Bags will be distributed at the November Roundtable. Please send a representative to Roundtable to pick up your bags and confirm your neighborhood collection site.
